How IT Skills Benefit Bottom of the Pyramid Populations

InterMedia carried out a nine-country study across South and Southeast Asia (Bangladesh, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka) to understand and quantify how socio-economically disadvantaged (“bottom of the pyramid”) individuals benefit from gaining basic IT skills. Specifically, the study looked at the impact of IT training on employment options and wage earning potential across different economic sectors, and as compared to computer illiterate groups in the same social strata.
