Hard-to-Reach Populations

Monitoring and Evaluation

InterMedia knows the risks and challenges of working in difficult research environments. We work in complex areas such as Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Iraq, China and Cuba; we’ve conducted research among at-risk communities, including Chechens, Kurds and Uyghurs. InterMedia balances sensitivity to local realities while maintaining the methodological rigor upon which our reputation was built.

We have a proven track record in designing and implementing research and evaluation methods reaching urban, rural and remote communities; those at the bottom of the pyramid (BOP); and populations in fragile states and conflict or post-conflict areas.

We work with our clients to understand the results of our evaluation and then help them turn this knowledge into actionable plans. We conduct on-site training and workshops to help clients cultivate their own capabilities and increase their capacity, leaving them stronger and more capable of using evaluation techniques when outside support ends.
