Research Analysts/Project Managers: International Media, Public Diplomacy, Communications & ICTs for Development Full-Time Company-wide |
InterMedia is seeking Research Analysts/Research Managers at entry, mid and senior levels to lead or assist with complex, multi-country quantitative, qualitative and multi-method research projects. Specific areas of experience and expertise sought are as follows: governance, public diplomacy, international media/communications, economics; including cross cutting issues such as gender and youth. In addition, in-country experience in any of the following regions: Africa, Asia or MENA.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
The ideal candidates will have the following mix of experience, skills and personal traits:
- Strong knowledge of/experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Experience with USAID research frameworks
- USAID, MCC or World Bank project experience
- Strong ability to analyze, synthesize and present quantitative and qualitative data
- Proficiency with statistical analysis (e.g., SPSS), word processing and presentation software
- Deep interest in and knowledge of media, communication and development trends and issues in developing countries, and ideally with first-hand on-the-ground experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with colleagues and clients of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds
- Proven supervisory, organizational, and project and time management skills
- Ability to work to multiple and tight deadlines
- Foreign language proficiency strongly preferred—in particular, French and Arabic
- Ability to travel (approximately 20%)
- Innate curiosity; passion for research, analysis and delivering insight to clients
- Commitment to quality and accuracy
- Team player; self-starter; shows initiative; works independently
Education & Experience
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in political or social science, market research, international affairs, area studies, or related field, plus 1-2 years (entry level), 5 years (mid-level), or 10 years (senior level) of relevant experience entry level)
